Angka

Add receipts, invoices and other paper

Photograph, drop, forward or share: four ways in, one result.

Every payment wants one piece of paper behind it. Angka reads the paper, works out what it is, and matches it to its payment.

  • Press Add and drop files, or take a photo on your phone.
  • Forward an email to your business's own address, shown under Settings → Getting paper in. The attachment is read; an email with no attachment is read as the document.
  • On your phone, share a file or photo to Angka from any app.
  • A Lapis document files itself from its signed record, with no reading at all.

Angka reads the kind of paper, the total, the date and the name on it, and quotes the words it read each one from. It then checks the reading: the items must add up to the total, the quoted figure must match, the dates must make sense, and the amount is compared with your bank lines and with what that supplier usually charges.

A reading that passes is filed and marked "filed for you", with an undo. A reading in doubt is read again by a second AI, and if it is still in doubt it waits in the Inbox with the reason, never filed on a guess.

A receipt for a payment the bank has not shown yet sits in the Ledger as "Paid, waiting for the bank", dashed and in no total. When the statement with that payment comes in, the two become one row, counted once. If the statement for its date is in and still nothing matches, Angka asks: paid from another account, or personally?

If there is no paper, write a one-line note on the payment, like "client lunch, no receipt". That counts too.
